No Flirting at the Crime Scene

(Revising the story and posting it again.) To get her ex-girlfriend to stop pestering her, Wen Zhao casually pointed at a passing woman and said, "Give it up. This is the kind of person I'm into now." Her ex was struck as if by lightning, while Wen Zhao got a call summoning her to a crime scene. To her surprise, the woman she'd pointed at was also at the crime scene, talking with her colleague. As Wen Zhao stood there in a daze, her colleague waved her over. "Perfect timing. Let me introduce you. This is Captain Tan, our team leader. Captain Tan, this is Wen Zhao, the forensic pathologist who's just been transferred here." "Hello, I'm Tan Weiyue. Welcome to the Xicheng Branch." Tan Weiyue extended her hand with poised ease. Wen Zhao relaxed, kept a straight face as she shook her hand and exchanged names, and was just about to get back to work when Tan Weiyue suddenly stopped her. "Wait, I have something I'd like to ask you..." "When you said you liked someone like me just now, were you serious?" Wen Zhao: "...?" Colleague: "!!!" 1. Gorgeous, dashing police captain X cold, chaste forensic pathologist. A heads-up: both have exes, but there's no lingering emotional baggage. Wen Zhao isn't actually chaste, and she's a notorious player with a huge number of exes. 2. The cases are fictional, though some may be based on real ones. Any such cases will be marked. 3. The author isn't an expert and is relying entirely on research, so please don't nitpick the details. Theme: Work hard and love life.
