[Main story complete]
Also known as The Regent Doesn't Follow the Script and The Princess Is Determined to Die
Qiang Yi transmigrates into an old-fashioned novel, The Regent, You're So Scheming, as a beautiful cannon-fodder princess. A cinnabar tear mole makes her irresistible.
For more than two years, she hides her talents and maintains the original character's cautious persona. Then one day, the System tells her that if she lives out the princess's entire life, she can return to the real world.
Qiang Yi recalls that the original character died after offending the regent, Pei Hechao. So she embarks on the difficult path of trying to get herself killed.
1.
She hears that the regent opposed the young emperor's decree at court, so she immediately seeks out a remonstrance official to urge him to impeach the regent. But halfway through, the man himself appears behind her.
Caught in the act, Qiang Yi takes several steps back: "..."
"There's a wall behind you. No need to back away." Pei Hechao smiles as he grabs her hand.
Qiang Yi: ...That's it?
2.
Pei Hechao builds a private residence in the western suburbs.
She bribes a storyteller to spread rumors that the regent is extravagantly wasteful.
One day, during her afternoon nap, Qiang Yi is only half awake when she senses someone by her bed. Startled, she sits up and sees Pei Hechao looking at her with an inscrutable smile.
"What is the regent doing here?" Qiang Yi looks startled, but can't help feeling secretly delighted. At last, he's finally decided to make a move!
Instead, the man before her chuckles. "Have you had enough rest, Princess? How about accompanying me to visit my new residence in the western suburbs?"
Half a month later...
"Pei Hechao, when are you letting me out?"
"This humble official is extravagantly wasteful. I still need the princess to keep an eye on me." His peach-blossom eyes gaze at her, deep and alluring.
Qiang Yi: ...Why does something feel off?
Later, when she hears that the regent entered the empress dowager's bedchamber at midnight, she... gets so angry that she kicks the palace gate.
"Pei Hechao, this is all your fault." Qiang Yi sucks in a breath from the pain.
"Yes, it's my fault." His palm is smeared with ointment as he gently rubs it into her ankle.
"Pei Hechao, you're shameless!"
"Yes, I'm shameless." He lifts her fair little foot and gently blows on the injured spot.
Qiang Yi shivers, and her face turns bright red.

Reader's guide
1. The romance between the leads takes place before the original heroine appears. One-on-one pairing.
2. The System is barely present and has little to do.
3. The empress dowager is the male lead's elder sister, but they are not blood-related.
4. The old-fashioned novel's title is made up. Any resemblance to an existing title is purely coincidental.
5. Many original headcanons. Not for readers who care about historical accuracy.
New novel: A Stolen Heart
Blurb:
After six months of marriage, Ruan Yao and Prince Su have exchanged fewer than ten words. They seem to treat each other with respect, but in truth, they can't stand one another.
Prince Su, Feng Chengjin, has a childhood sweetheart who is the love of his life, while Ruan Yao also has someone she admires, a man as bright and free as the moonlight and breeze.
She thinks she will have to live with her regrets forever. But one day, Prince Su unexpectedly loses his memory. He recognizes no one, yet insists on staying by Ruan Yao's side.
That night, Ruan Yao returns to her room as usual. When she opens the door, Prince Su is standing there with a wounded look.
"Yaoyao, don't be cross with me anymore."
Ruan Yao: "Who's cross with you?"
Prince Su's eyes light up with delight. "So you'll let me into your room?"
Ruan Yao: "..." That's not what I said! I didn't say that!
But she doesn't even have time to object before Feng Chengjin smiles, takes her hand, and leads her inside. His mother-in-law told him that Yaoyao loves little babies. He has to hurry up and make one for her to play with!
The amnesiac Feng Chengjin relies only on Ruan Yao. He loves and spoils her without reservation, always putting her first and doing everything her way.
Ruan Yao has never received such wholehearted affection from anyone. Though she struggles against it, she still falls deeply into the relationship.
Yet the very day Ruan Yao discovers she is pregnant, Feng Chengjin returns to the prince's residence with the woman he has always loved.
"A Jin?" She stands with a frown outside the bedroom they once shared.
The man before her is still handsome and elegant, peerlessly beautiful. But his eyes, once full of warmth and tenderness, are now frosted over. He snaps, "Who said you could enter my room? Get out."
Ruan Yao senses something is wrong. Deliberately ignoring the taunting smile of the woman beside him, she asks him, "I'm pregnant. Do you want this child?"
Feng Chengjin's eyes are full of disgust. He says coldly, "You had an affair with another man and got pregnant. How dare you ask me whether I want the child?"
Hearing this, Ruan Yao smiles instead.
That night, the Princess Consort of Su drinks a potion to end her pregnancy and faints in her room. A few days later, Prince Su finds a divorce agreement in his study.
When they meet again, Ruan Yao is the woman the emperor is about to marry as his empress. On the night before she enters the palace, someone abducts her from her home.
"You are not allowed to marry him." The man's voice is hoarse, his eyes bloodshot as he pins her against the wall, gripping her wrist tightly.
Ruan Yao's eyes remain calm. Her red lips move. "Prince Su, I am getting married tomorrow."
"You love me. How can you marry him?!" he says urgently.
"You're joking, Your Highness. I've only ever loved two people in my life. One is His Majesty, the emperor. The other is the fool who lost his memory."
She pauses, then gives a soft laugh. "But you, Feng Chengjin, I have never loved."
Feng Chengjin has never failed to get what he wants, except for one person. Her surname is Ruan, and her heart is the hardest in the world.
Theme: Everyone is the protagonist of their own life.
Now Jiang Shan completely changed his surname. He married himself, and the Queen Mother's natal family was the only one. Ha... If the original heroine was alive, she would be so angry that she could lift the coffin board. Suddenly I felt that the original heroines described in the quick travel article were really disgusting.
Then who was the man who went to the Queen Mother's house in the middle of the night? Why was he said to be the Regent?
Regent: Why should others be treated like this?!! I'm not convinced!!! Hahahahaha
I no longer have any thoughts of confessing my love as soon as possible. I feel that it is very sweet now, hahaha (Also, I don't know if there will be a second update. Anyway, I can't wait today, I am so sleepy that I can't open my eyes~)
Ah ah ah ah, it looks so beautiful, spread the flowers
He wasn't the one who said he was the one who forced Qiang Yi to death, so was he the original male protagonist?
It's very beautiful. It's a big article. I really like it. This is my second book.
?? Very nice(??ω??)??
Why is no one complaining about the author's three books where the heroine's name is "Yi"?! I suspect that the author's name also means "meaning"
Alas, it's really over~
