The Palace's Old Matron at Fourteen

[Kind, cheerful young matron] VS [Tsundere, chaste regent]

Su Ying studied medicine from a young age and aspired to become a doctor who saved lives. But when her family fell on hard times, she entered the palace as a maid at fourteen.

On her first day in the palace, Su Ying was anxious. Thinking about how she wouldn't be allowed to leave until she turned thirty, she lay awake for ages before finally drifting off.

Who could have guessed...

When she woke up, Su Ying was twenty-eight, and a matron. She overheard people talking behind her back, calling her cruel and bad-tempered.

"I'm a bit old, but at least I'm close to the day I can leave the palace," Su Ying reassured herself, hoping to keep her head down for two years and earn her freedom.

But... things seemed to be taking a strange turn.

The eighteen-year-old emperor grinned. "Auntie Su Ying, you used to bathe me when I was little!"

Su Ying (fuming): I didn't! I never did! Don't make things up!

The twenty-five-year-old regent pressed his sword to Su Ying's neck, furious. "You kissed me and now you want to run away, Auntie? You're so heartless!"

Su Ying (forcing a smile): Who's your auntie? And... I was saving you, not kissing you! Put down the sword and let's talk this out!
