Blurb:
After transmigrating to a parallel-world Pleistocene, Yu Miao wakes up after a shipwreck and begins the difficult struggle to survive on an island.
The human world seems to have sunk beneath the ocean. Believing he may be the only human left, Yu Miao wants to survive on the lonely, barren island, so he has no choice but to dive underwater in search of supplies.
The bottomless ocean is a mysterious and magnificent world of its own. Countless strange, mutated species create a changing environment rich in resources.
And so, after failing to catch any fish, Yu Miao accidentally spears a beautiful mermaid's tail with his fishing spear.
Yu Miao grew up listening to mermaid fairy tales, so he knows mermaids are beautiful, kind, helpful friends. With tears in his eyes, he clings to the mermaid and begs for food, rambling about all his troubles since transmigrating.
Compared with other creatures, a mermaid who is at least half human really is more to his taste!
And the mermaid really is just as kind and generous as the stories say, feeding Yu Miao so much at every meal that he has to clutch his stomach, too full to eat another bite.
Antulie has never seen a creature like this alive. It might be the only one of its kind. So he keeps it on the back of his sea turtle.
The two-legged creature smells delicious. He plans to fatten it up, slice it thin, and enjoy it little by little.
But this two-legged creature is far too lively. It has raised a whole school of fish and shrimp beside the turtle's shell, stolen his turtle, and built a strange nest that keeps glowing and really draws him in.
Antulie thinks he could keep raising it a little longer, or perhaps try eating it a different way.
…
P.S. This is not an apocalyptic story. It's a parallel modern world. The indigenous humans have always lived both on land and underwater, and their society is just as modern as ours. When the protagonist first transmigrates, he is alone on a deserted island and thinks humanity has gone extinct, but in reality there has been no disaster. This is an important plot point. Later on, the protagonist will explore the underwater world where other humans live, and more... Orz

Coming soon: The Little Gecko Becomes a Fire God Abroad
The little gecko spirit Sha Ye woke up among some withered trees and discovered that he had transmigrated to an age when magic was fading, becoming a solitary magical creature.
Gifted with venom, control over fire, and a knack for raising insects, he was discovered by students from a comprehensive magic academy. From that day on, the forsaken continent welcomed its first undying fire demon god since the fall of the gods.
Interviewer: Fire God, what do you think of the stories and fan creations about you by the bards?
Sha Ye: I'm just a little gecko from the East! I'm not one of your Western fire salamanders, the salamanders known as fire spirits! I raise mealworms and silkworms to eat and make clothes! I breathe fire just to roast meat!
My venom is only for self-defense and for the Miaos! I raise all these trees just so I can switch houses every day! I...
Reporter: Thank you for your answer, Fire God. Let's return to our broadcast. As everyone knows, the Fire God is an elemental spirit from the East. Born from flames, he is as full of mysteries as his distant and enigmatic Eastern homeland...
Sha Ye: Another day of not wanting to be a fire god. The little gecko looks exhausted.jpg
The bards sing epics about him, the mages revere him as a god of nature, the witches see him as a demon to be bound by contract, the alchemists and arcanists call him a book of truth, and the astrologers honor him as a constellation of fate...
The little gecko Sha Ye says: Thanks for asking. I'm from China, but I became a god abroad.
The love interest is the protagonist of the academy story, who later becomes the Holy Son of the Flame Demons.
This draws on a rather narrow system of magic, so readers who like meticulous research should steer clear. The story is probably a mix of academy life and farming.
The idea came from the European and American legend of the fire salamander. When people used wood for fires, fire salamanders would be startled and flee from the flames. People in those days thought fire salamanders were born from fire and had the ability to withstand fire, were poisonous all over, and could regenerate endlessly.
In a way, this is a bit like the mistaken-glorification trope. So I wrote about a little gecko from China becoming a spirit and being mistaken for a fire salamander abroad. What a delightful misunderstanding~
