The Empress Never Wanted to Be Famous

Su Jin was the young lady of the Prime Minister's household, the most renowned and talented woman in the capital.

She had barely warmed the empress's seat before darkness fell over her eyes, and she became a minor modern-day celebrity, plagued by scandals and with terrible acting skills.

Before she could even get comfortable being a pretty face, she was taken in by a wealthy family.

And told she was their real daughter, who had been missing for years.

Su Jin: You modern people are something else.

Su Jin had spent over a decade competing against the daughters of other noble families and never once lost. At her first glance at the impostor daughter, she sensed deep hostility.

But Su Jin, a master of palace intrigue, hid her feelings very well.

For the sake of the impostor daughter Su Weiran's career, the Su family accepted an invitation to join a reality show livestream.

On camera, Su Weiran spoke sarcastically: "Little sister, you've never seen a guqin before, have you? I..."

Su Jin kicked her aside, sat down, and played "Guangling San" and "Wine Madness."

As they showed off the Su family's collection, Su Weiran said loftily: "This antique vase is from the reign of Emperor Wenzong of the Rui Dynasty..."

Su Jin glanced at it. "It's a fake."

Su Weiran flew into a rage. "What gives you the right to say that?"

Su Jin: "It doesn't feel like the ones I used to handle."

--Actually, it's because it doesn't feel like the one in my home. I must have chipped it and left a mark back then. Emperor Wenzong of the Rui Dynasty was basically my father-in-law.

As the show aired, the internet buzzed with discussion. Everyone wondered why Su Jin, that pretty face, knew so much.

How was it that she, the one who had grown up away from home, seemed more like the real daughter?

Soon, they discovered that Su Jin's talents went far beyond acting:

☆ The Rui Dynasty Institute of History and Culture announced Su Jin as a new member.

☆ The largest gem appraisal organization hired Su Jin as a senior appraiser.

☆ Su Jin's signature appeared in the bottom-right corner of the Suzhou garden design plans.

☆ On a traditional music program, Su Jin presented the score of a lost masterpiece.

Fans: Tell us, what else don't we know about you?

Meanwhile, Su Jin was debating whether to accept an invitation from the national archaeological team to excavate the tomb of Empress Yike Ciwen Shunchun Shengzhao, wife of Emperor Zhaozong of the Rui Dynasty. Yes, her own tomb.

Thousands of years later, I finally excavated my own tomb.

It feels a little novel.

1. I'm trying my hand at a fun, wish-fulfillment story that lets loose.

2. I hope you'll enjoy it, but if you don't, that's fine too. Just don't get upset while reading.

3. The male lead is the young emperor.
