I've Got You

1.

Strange things had been happening around Xin Wei lately.

Bizarre birds flew through the sky, strange insects crawled on the ground, and even a few "roommates" who didn't look quite human had appeared in his room.

After a week of this, Xin Wei couldn't take it anymore and seriously began to suspect that something was wrong with his mind.

He handed in his resignation, and moments later nearly walked straight into the boundary of an illusion.

So he changed direction and headed for the psychological clinic on the next street.

Doctor: "You mean you can see things that aren't there?"

Xin Wei stared at the monster clinging to the doctor's neck, devouring his heart, and thought: Either I'm insane, or the world is.

Then the monster reached across the table between them and stretched out its bloodstained claws toward him.

A mysterious long-haired man leapt through the room's only window and effortlessly crushed the monster's head, though it had been only inches from Xin Wei.

The man sounded delighted. "I found you."

After the two had lived together for a while, Xin Wei gazed at the fluffy ears on the man's head. They looked extremely pettable, and he felt conflicted.

Xin Wei: Aren't you an exorcist?

Xin Wei: Then why do you have ears like that?

Sheng Wantang: Are you discriminating against my profession? Who says a demon can't be an exorcist?

As soon as Sheng Wantang brought Xin Wei to Haishi, Xin Wei was warned:

"Everything Sheng Wantang has today came from betraying his master and ancestors. He's only nice to you because he wants something from you. If you don't believe me, look at the evil marks on his body. The backlash makes him suffer day and night!"

Later, Sheng Wantang pinned Xin Wei beneath him, the hideous marks spreading rapidly until they nearly reached the man's jaw.

As if he couldn't feel any pain, Sheng Wantang wore a wicked, unrestrained smile.

Red-faced, Xin Wei thought: ...So he really is a wicked demon who betrayed both his master and his ancestors!

*Sheng Wantang is wild in every sense of the word. His way of thinking is quite different from a human's.
