Blurb:
The young master of the Mo family in Jiangling City has been frail and sickly since childhood. He gets winded after walking a few steps and collapses at the slightest breeze. Every doctor says he won't live to see twenty. On the rare occasion he finally leaves the house, a poor Daoist, raving mad and spouting nonsense, takes advantage of him right there in the street.
Fuming with embarrassment, Young Master Mo grabs a butcher's knife and chases the poor Daoist for three whole blocks.
Su Jinlan explains, "We are fated to meet, young master."
Mo Yunshen snaps, "I think you're sick in the head!"
Thanks to that fateful meeting, Mo Yunshen's life is spared. His parents bundle him off and sell him to Su Jinlan as a disciple.
Unfortunately, he was born with damaged meridians, so his cultivation progresses slowly. In the end, Su Jinlan finds a way to help him and, with an air of mystery, says, "My dear disciple, let's practice dual cultivation."
Mo Yunshen is so furious his ears practically smoke. "You shameless lecher!"
As it turns out, dual cultivation really is just dual cultivation. Su Jinlan simply wants to clear his meridians for him.
From then on, Mo Yunshen's cultivation advances by leaps and bounds.
He thinks they really are fated to meet.
But whenever they encounter someone else, Su Jinlan says, "Good sir, you and I are fated to meet today..."
Mo Yunshen feels deceived and decides to see their dual cultivation through to the end.
"Master, I think dual cultivation works better this way."
"N-No need, surely?"
Later, after experiencing the wonders of true dual cultivation, Su Jinlan asks, "My dear disciple, shall we practice dual cultivation again today?"
Later still, Mo Yunshen has become adept at grabbing him by the collar and hauling him back, then explaining with a straight face, "Please excuse him. My master is crazy."
