Eunuch Dou's Little Fool

[I'm back! I'm getting ready to start a new eunuch novel next door. Take a look if you're interested.]

After losing her memory, Lu Bai is placed in the palace as a female official serving an uncared-for prince. But from the start, her attempt to seduce the Crown Prince fails, and Eunuch Dou, who oversees palace punishments, gives her a harsh lesson. Even worse, she's sent to the palace school, where her teacher is none other than Eunuch Dou.

Eunuch Dou: "Anyone who likes this idiot must be blind. If I catch her doing anything wrong, she's dead!"

That night, while copying lines as punishment, Lu Bai writes on a little slip of paper: Little Douzi, Teacher has bullied me this badly. I'll make him pay!

Little Douzi, receiving the note: ...Hmph.

To survive, Lu Bai has knelt outside the Directorate of Ceremonial, bribed her teacher, saved his life, kissed him, and won his heart. Gradually, everyone realizes she's not really stupid. She can save many people, kill many people, and one day take up the empress's crown.

Later, rumors spread that Lu Bai schemed her way to the throne, even giving up marrying the person she loved for it. They say that person is a eunuch.

Eunuch Dou: "Whoever started that rumor is dead! We, we already..."

Lu Bai, looking innocent: "Already what?"

Eunuch Dou twists his neck and snaps angrily, "We've been married for ages!"

A proud, sharp-tongued old eunuch who hates straightforward advances X a palace maid who understands everything and is a master of being direct (?)

Reader's Guide:

1. Alternate history means the author makes the rules. The historical setting is entirely fictional: a mash-up of the harem, the court, battlefields, feudalism, and constitutional monarchy. The setting is very loose, so don't scrutinize it.

2. The hero is a genuine old eunuch, proud and difficult.

3. The heroine was born into this world and loses her memory at the start, but recovers it later.

4. This is a love story about two imperfect people. No golden finger; the romance is the main focus.

Happy ending, and as sweet as I can make it.

This story is based on the short story next door, I Accidentally Stole the Emperor's Wife, though the setting has been changed. Head over there for something sweet~

Theme: A love that is repressed yet unwavering
