A Diary of Mental □□: The □□ Demon Goes Straight (?)

[Next story coming soon] [The Aria of Guns and Roses] (Vampires)

The straightforward spoiler version

The vampire hunter Mu Xin falls in love with Lan Luo, a vampire prince. They dance together, practice magic, share cake, and go to concerts... Their romance goes so smoothly that it’s almost ridiculous. Mu Xin feels incredibly lucky. It turns out even someone as insecure as her can find love. Just when Mu Xin thinks she and the man she loves can live happily together, conflict over competing interests between their races erupts once more, and Lan Luo dies protecting her.

Heartbroken, Mu Xin wants to change everything and bring her beloved back to life. A witch tells her there’s only one way: make Lan Luo fall in love with her again.

Mu Xin is full of confidence: That’s it? But when she returns to the past, she discovers that making Lan Luo fall in love with her is no easy task. Mu Xin even comes up with a special “Plan to Win Lan Luo Over,” determined to capture his heart. She bakes him a cake herself. Lan Luo: Thanks, but I don’t like sweets. She tries to teach him magic, and he immediately casts an advanced healing spell. She asks him to teach her to dance. Lan Luo: I don’t know how to dance. She invites him to the theater. Lan Luo: I’m busy. Mu Xin: I haven’t even said when...

In short, the plan to win Lan Luo over fails completely. The reason for the failure: the target is too virtuous. Another possibility is that Lan Luo simply doesn’t like her.

Dejected, Mu Xin wants to give up, not knowing that Lan Luo had already fallen in love with her long before she realized it...

The ridiculous version

Mu Xin is a “poor sucker” who hides in the final boss’s room to avoid low-level monsters, goes to an auction only to discover she can’t afford anything, gets side-eyed while quietly watching the commotion, is told to go to a school to complete a mission only to find that the school won’t let her enroll, is knocked out and kidnapped while walking down the street minding her own business, helps someone only to have them shove her forward to take the blame, sees her favorite singer run away, and finally falls in love with someone only for him to die.

What, you ask why I put “poor sucker” in quotation marks?

Because not all of that is quite true. For example, after Mu Xin was kidnapped, she became a pirate (not really).

And there’s plenty more ridiculousness, such as:

(1)

Question: What’s it like being forced to watch a short film shipping two people together?

Top-voted answer (Mu Xin): Thanks for asking. It’s sweet, but it might kill me (from embarrassment).

(2)

Someone asks Mu Xin: “Do you believe in God?”

Mu Xin: Party members can’t practice religion.

(3)

Client A: “I want to take my beloved B home.”

Client B: “Kill A.”

Mu Xin, who has taken both requests: ?

(4)

When Mu Xin, disguised as a believer, meets an evil god disguised as the God of Light.

On the surface:

Mu Xin (eyes brimming with tears): “Lord God of Light, you are my god!”

Evil God (calmly): “I will accept your faith and grant your wish.”

In reality:

Mu Xin: Fake God of Light.

Evil God: Fake believer.

Mu Xin: Actually, I have multiple identities. Depending on the mission, I draw an identity card to match. I can be a noblewoman from high society or a poor, insecure student at a theological academy. I can be an auction bidder or a radio host. I can be a kidnapped girl or a pirate, a vampire hunter or a vampire bride.

Lan Luo is another “poor sucker.” In the scene he fears most, he only wants to get closer to Mu Xin, but his beloved shoots him ten times.

As he falls against her, he says, “So it takes ten bullets to get close to you.”

[Reader’s Guide]:

(1) Western fantasy setting. Vampires, werewolves, elves, dragons, dwarves, demons, gods, and other races may appear at any time. The thirteen vampire clans are based on the Bible. Other details are the author’s own additions.

(2) About the female lead: She’s a materialist. She has a fearful-avoidant attachment style: she longs for love but is also afraid of it. After meeting the male lead, she gradually overcomes this and learns to love bravely.

(3) One-on-one romance, happy ending.

Main couple: A vampire prince who’s good at flirting but can’t handle being flirted with × a clever, brave vampire hunter

Side couples: Dragon × princess (ambition and promises)

Human × elf (love and freedom)

The literary version that fits the title

The gun is what a hunter uses to kill vampires.

The rose is what a vampire gives to his bride.

01

What price would you be willing to pay for a face that never grows old and a life without end?

Would you be willing to sleep in a coffin?

Would you be willing to live on blood?

Would you be willing to wander the night forever, never seeing the sun?

Then I grant you eternal life.

02

(Female lead’s perspective)

Mu Xin is a vampire hunter who specializes in hunting vampires that prey on humans. On one mission, she had an “encounter” with someone. He came from a noble family, was breathtakingly handsome, and had elegant manners... He was practically Mu Xin’s ideal type.

The only problem was that he was a vampire.

03

(Male lead’s perspective)

Before I met you, I was already dead.

But then you appeared, bringing dazzling sunlight and a breeze that stirred my heart, and suddenly you were before my eyes...

From that moment on, I realized my heart had never died. It had only been asleep, waiting, waiting for someone to wake it.

Is peerless beauty and eternal life a gift from Heaven or a curse?

Was my dreamlike encounter with him a coincidence, or fate?...

If this long life must eventually end, I only wish to give you a rose that will never wither.
