Standard Spoiler Version
Vampire hunter Mu Xin falls in love with Lan Luo, a prince of the blood clan. They dance together, practice magic, share cake, go to concerts... Their romance could not have gone more smoothly. Mu Xin feels incredibly lucky. Even she, who never used to believe in herself, can find love. Just when she thinks she and the man she loves can stay together for good, the struggle for power between their races erupts once again, and Lan Luo dies protecting her.
Heartbroken, Mu Xin wants to change everything and bring her beloved back to life. A witch tells her there is only one way: make Lan Luo fall in love with her again.
Mu Xin is brimming with confidence: Is that all? But after returning to the past, she discovers that winning Lan Luo's heart is no easy feat. She draws up a special "Plan to Win Over Lan Luo," determined to claim his "heart." She bakes a cake for him herself and asks him to try it. Lan Luo: "Thanks, but I don't like sweets." She offers to teach him magic, and he promptly casts an advanced healing spell. She asks him to teach her to dance. Lan Luo: "I can't dance." She invites him to the theater. Lan Luo: "I'm busy." Mu Xin: "I haven't even said which day..."
In short, the Plan to Win Over Lan Luo is a complete failure. The reason: her target is far too committed to proper gentlemanly conduct. Another possibility is that Lan Luo simply doesn't like her.
Discouraged, Mu Xin wants to give up. Little does she know that, in the time she cannot remember, Lan Luo has already fallen in love with her...
Silly Version
Mu Xin is a real "walking disaster." She dodges minor monsters by hiding in the big boss's room, goes to an auction only to find she hasn't brought enough money, gets eye-rolls for quietly watching the commotion, is sent to a school on a mission only to find it won't let her enroll, gets knocked out and kidnapped while walking down the street, helps someone only to be framed in return, watches her favorite singer run away, and finally falls in love with someone who then dies.
What, you ask why I put that in quotation marks?
Because that's not the whole story. For example, after Mu Xin is kidnapped, she becomes a pirate (not really).
And that's not the only ridiculous thing that happens. For instance:
(1)
Question: What's it like to be forced to watch a shipper's short film about two people with someone else?
Top-voted answer (Mu Xin): Thanks for asking. It's sweet, but it could kill me (from embarrassment).
(2)
Someone asks Mu Xin, "Do you believe in God?"
Mu Xin: "I'm a Party member. I can't believe in religion."
(3)
Client A: "I want to take my beloved B home."
Client B: "Kill A."
Mu Xin, who has accepted both requests: ?
(4)
When Mu Xin, disguised as a believer, meets an evil god disguised as the God of Light.
On the surface:
Mu Xin (with tears in her eyes): "Lord God of Light, you are my god!"
Evil God (calmly): "I will accept your faith and grant your wish."
In reality:
Mu Xin: Fake God of Light.
Evil God: Fake believer.
Mu Xin: Actually, I have a lot of identities. Depending on the mission, I'll draw the matching identity card. I'm both an aristocratic young lady from high society and an impoverished, insecure student at a theology school. I'm an auction bidder and a radio host. I'm a kidnapped girl and a pirate, a vampire hunter and a blood-clan bride.
Lan Luo is another "walking disaster." In the very scene he fears most, all he wants is to get closer to Mu Xin, but the woman he loves shoots him ten times.
As he falls against her, he says, "So it takes ten bullets to get close to you."
[Reading Guide]:

(2) About the heroine: She is a materialist. She has a fearful-avoidant attachment style: she longs for love but is also afraid of it. After meeting the hero, she gradually overcomes that fear and learns to love bravely.
(3) One-on-one romance, happy ending.
Main couple: A blood-clan prince who's good at flirting but can't handle being flirted with × a clever, brave vampire hunter
Side couples: Dragon × princess (ambition and promises)
Human × elf (love and freedom)
On-Theme, Literary Version
A gun is what a hunter uses to kill vampires.
A rose is what the blood clan gives its bride.
01
What price would you pay for a face that never grows old and a life without end?
Would you be willing to sleep in a coffin?
Would you be willing to live on blood?
Would you be willing to wander forever through the dark, never seeing the sun?
Then I grant you eternal life.
02
(Heroine's perspective)
Mu Xin is a vampire hunter who specializes in killing vampires that prey on humans. On a mission, she has a chance encounter with a handsome stranger. He's from a noble family, breathtakingly beautiful, and elegant in his manners... He is practically Mu Xin's ideal type.
Unfortunately, he's a vampire.
03
(Hero's perspective)
Before I met you, I had been dead all along.
But then you appeared, bringing brilliant sunshine and a gentle breeze, and suddenly stood before me...
From that moment on, I knew my heart had never truly died. It had only been asleep, waiting for someone to wake it.
Are unparalleled beauty and eternal life gifts from heaven, or curses?
Was my dreamlike encounter with him merely chance, or was it fate?...
If even this endless life must one day end, I wish only to give you a rose that will never wither.
Theme: Even if the world brings me wind, frost, knives, and swords, I will keep a chivalrous heart and a tender soul.
