An Obvious Secret Crush

Four years later, Wen Qi ran into Jiang Jiu again. Watching him take down five burly men all by himself, and still have time to look cool, she had an incredible thought: Could the diligent, studious boy who used to recite the Eight Honors and Eight Shames have been possessed by someone else?

"Jiang Jiu, do you remember the last time you called me 'big sister'?"

"I do. It was when you called me 'Daddy.'"

"..."

They got along peacefully for nearly three years. After they started college, Jiang Jiu became a regular at Wen Qi's school. Her dorm friends teased her, and she suddenly got a mischievous idea.

One day, Jiang Jiu came to see Wen Qi again. She had put on carefully prepared makeup and tied her black hair into a Nezha-style double bun. Standing before him, she poked his chest with a finger and fluttered her foxlike eyes at him, acting awkward and coy. "Jiang Jiu, do you like me?"

He paused for a moment, then raised an eyebrow and leaned against the door with a half-smile. "What if I do?"

She hadn't expected him to play along so readily. Her teasing mood vanished completely, and all she wanted was to clap her hands and pretend she hadn't said a thing.

She fell silent for three seconds, then suddenly realized something. Her heart skipped a beat, and she asked, unwilling to give up, "Can I run away now?"

"Hm?"

Jiang Jiu shook his head and walked closer, deliberately copying her earlier tone. "If you run... I'll break your legs."
