When a Magician Reincarnates as a Spirit Tamer

As a magician in a high-risk profession, Ryogi Kaoru had long since made peace with life and death.

When an experimental mishap brought her life to an end, she was even a little glad she'd already arranged how her estate would be divided.

Now, her only regret was that she hadn't passed on the Magic Crest on her body.

“Magic Crest? What's that?”

The voice beside her was clear. Ryogi Kaoru had closed her eyes to watch the scenes of her life flash past, but suddenly opened them and met a pair of eyes as blue as the sky, looking down at her.

“I've already had my shikigami tally your assets. They're nowhere near enough to cover the losses suffered by the Genji collateral branch. The head of the Genji clan won't let you off easily when he finds out. How about this? I'll cover the money for you. In return, make a pact with me and become my spirit.”

Ryogi Kaoru: “???”

...Huh?

In one sentence: A scheming fox tricks a dragon.

As Ryogi Kaoru begins to adapt to the world of Heian-kyo, she slowly comes to her senses. Was I just swindled?
