A Lifetime's Wish

In Yue Han's heart, there had always been a bright moonlight, Xia Yu, the son of the King of Xia. A gentleman, poised and refined, as warm as jade. * The King of Xia was framed for treason. Out of regard for their old friendship, the emperor spared his life, but banished his entire family. One moment, they held power over all under heaven; the next, they were despised and abandoned. The ups and downs of this world were all a joke. Bound in chains, a young nobleman saw the darkness behind all the splendor overnight. The man escorting the criminals was General Yue Luan, Yue Han's father. * Yue Han knelt in the ancestral hall for three days, begging his father for a chance to see Xia Yu. His father was furious at the young man's stubbornness and struck him a hundred times with a cane, yet Yue Han wouldn't change his mind. His mother, pained to see her son suffer, pleaded on his behalf, and he got his wish. * That night, the moonlight was cold. Yue Han stood with his back straight and handed Xia Yu a jade flute. "I... have nothing I can give you. I bought this jade flute with the money I saved over six months. Its body is straight, and I hope... you won't let the ways of the world bend your back." Xia Yu sneered. * Later, the former emperor died, and the King of Xia made his comeback. Xia Yu held the emperor hostage to command the lords, becoming the regent everyone feared. The young general Yue Han stepped forward to ask for battle. "The enemy has crossed our borders. I request permission to fight." Xia Yu raised his eyes slightly, fingers stroking the jade flute, his voice cool and indifferent. "Denied." * A flute and a sword, the meaning of a lifetime. For fifteen years, he bore a fearsome reputation and betrayed it all. * The loyal and righteous General Yue × the treacherous minister who must suffer through a long road to win his beloved back Message: Sweetness
