The Movie Emperor's One and Only Little Substitute

[The top-tier star's career-ending scandal ends with him burying himself, while a mature, wealthy veteran movie emperor takes his place]

When Gu Ying and Song Jun argued, the thing she said most often was, "If you dare yell at me, I'll go after Lu Shen."

Lu Shen was the nation's dream husband, a celebrated movie emperor every woman in the country wanted to pursue. "Going after Lu Shen" was just a popular online catchphrase.

Who could have guessed that Song Jun would become an overnight sensation, only to post a loving photo with a rich heiress the very next day? Her boyfriend had become her ex.

Gu Ying cried her heart out, but still had to keep working. That day, she was covered in mud as a stunt double and left to fend for herself in the pouring rain, unable to tell her tears from the rainwater.

Then someone held her tenderly. "It's just a rain scene. Are you really this aggrieved?"

She was so caught up in her performance that she didn't even realize she was doubling for the Best Actress today, and that her scene partner was none other than Lu Shen, the movie emperor everyone wanted to pursue.

Later, Song Jun professed his love for Gu Ying in public.

Lu Shen's fans: You dare steal our movie emperor's woman? Do you really think you're a top-tier star now?

Ying-Shen shippers: They're doing just fine. Leave them alone and don't ask.

At first, pursuing Lu Shen was just a rash impulse on Gu Ying's part. Only after she became Mrs. Lu did she belatedly realize that this movie emperor really knew how to play the long game.

He had kept her deep in his heart, wrapping her in layers of tenderness, so no one could ever hurt her again.
