Escape 101

In the first episode of Escape 101, during the contestant introductions:

Contestant A: I'm a sanda champion. I can make the ghosts in the game shriek.

Contestant B: I was born with yin-yang eyes, and my blood can ward off evil.

Contestant C: I'm a member of the World Intelligence Puzzle Federation. No puzzle can stump me.

Ruan Xi adjusts the microphone, walks onstage, and performs a song and dance routine. "Hello, everyone. I'm Ruan Xi, a singer and dancer. This is a song and dance routine I created myself."

Contestants and mentors: ??? Did you walk onto the wrong stage?

Ruan Xi: No, I'm in the right place.

He suddenly turns and points backstage. "Here's an example. Someone was calling for help just now. I heard them. Did you?"

No one expected a singer and dancer with no apparent connection to escape games to become a dark horse in an escape-themed talent show.

Solving puzzles, fighting monsters, and even using his incredible hearing to crack some of the puzzles, he's practically a jack-of-all-trades with no weaknesses.

The other contestants marvel: Looks like the center position is his.

Only Ruan Xi knows he has one major rival: Gu Yanxing.

No matter the puzzle, Gu Yanxing always figures out the answer before him, making him grit his teeth in frustration.

But Gu Yanxing is so aloof that he won't even argue, so Ruan Xi can only compete with him in secret.

Gradually, Ruan Xi realizes something is off.

Gu Yanxing always picks the same game instance as him and insists on teaming up. Every time, he gives Ruan Xi the chance to get the key item, but whenever danger appears, he steps in front of him.

Ruan Xi is both annoyed and anxious. "What do you mean by that? Do you look down on me? Can you still win if you hold back?"

Gu Yanxing says sullenly, "I want you to win."

"You'll be happy if you win."

"I want you to be happy."

Theme: Teamwork.
