[Jin Guang] Daily Records from Miaojiang

They say that although Bei Jingwang possesses peerless intelligence and enjoys wealth and splendor, he has been bedridden for years, weak and frail. He remained unmarried well into adulthood and lived a lonely, miserable life. Fortunately, he has a daughter to comfort him, known as Princess Beijing. She is obedient and filial, always at her father's side, fond of reading and learning, and gifted in literature.

...Er, sorry. That was a lot of nonsense. Forget everything above, okay?

Oh, right, I forgot to mention: that's me. Has anyone seen the pen I was using to write my diary?

※ Literary version

Jing Ri Gu Ming once thought he would walk this lonely road alone for the rest of his life. He never expected that, on an ordinary day, another soul would take up residence in his body, like his twin. Day and night, they ate and slept together, laughed and cried together, went through everything side by side, shared joy and grief, and lived and died as one.

One day, he thought: If there were a way, he would give this soul everything he had. He wanted to hold its hand and tell it that he wanted someone who would never betray him, leave him, or forget him, someone who would love him forever, whether he was good or bad. And whether it was male or female, he would protect it, stay by its side, and cherish it forever.

Like a daughter, like a younger sister, and like myself; like a brother, like a father, and like you.

You are the other half of my soul that was severed from me.

※ From an original character's perspective. Possible side couples include Yan Qiao, Jun Bing, Lin Yu, Long Yu, Yue Hua, and Hen Xin...
