[Onmyoji] [HakuSei] Friends Across the Wall

"Why come out when it's raining?"

"We agreed you'd listen to me play the flute every day. Are you trying to go back on your word?"

"I don't mind, but you don't want to go out in the rain, do you?"

"Why not? Rain gives me more inspiration!"

"Arrogant. You still haven't mastered it."

"Hey, that's going too far! You have to listen for an extra hour today!"

"I don't mind. I'm always here anyway."

The person said it calmly, and "he" rose onto his toes and tossed over a bundle. The smell of grilled fish couldn't be hidden, even on a rainy day. Neither could the smell of it being burnt.

"He" drew out his words.

"Mm," came the younger voice from the other side. "I'm listening."

Then a flute melody rang out through the rain...

But it was strange. Where did the rainwater go? Why did it curve over his head and fall onto the empty ground beside him? Had the rain stopped, or was the person on the other side a monster?

Was that thumping sound accompanying the flute the sound of a bouncing ball?

"It's just onmyoji magic."

The child on the other side of the wall laughed softly.

Ah, how he wished he could knock down this wall and see what that child looked like...

And at that moment, Minamoto no Hiromasa opened his eyes.
