Who Fell First?

At a private dinner, Song Shuyao fell in love with Shi Chen at first sight. She heard that Shi Chen had graduated from an Ivy League school, returned to China to start a research company, and was worth over a hundred million at a young age, with a bright future ahead. Most importantly, Shi Chen had a face that could charm all living beings, yet he was aloof and abstinent. His immaculate dark suit and gold-rimmed glasses gave him the air of a refined scoundrel, perfectly hitting Song Shuyao's X-rated preferences. According to rumors, Shi Chen liked cute, clingy girls who knew how to act coquettish. Song Shuyao flipped her hair and promptly put on her persona as a coquettish little fairy, sending him sweet good-morning, good-afternoon, and good-night messages every day, and acting cute as punctually as mealtimes. Shi Chen was indeed taken with it, and they quickly became a couple, their relationship growing steadily warmer. Until one day, Song Shuyao came across a school reunion photo and discovered that they had been high school classmates. Shi Chen had excelled academically and gone abroad to study in his senior year, while Song Shuyao had average grades and was an arts student. They had barely interacted, so Song Shuyao had no memory of him and was sure he felt the same way. After a brief pause, Song Shuyao cooed, "Darling~ We were high school classmates! Do you know why I threw away so many love letters back then?" Shi Chen looked at Song Shuyao and suddenly smiled, though the corners of his mouth barely lifted. "I don't. But I was lucky enough to have you throw away one of my love letters, too." Song Shuyao: ? Shi Chen said unhurriedly, "I know your high school nickname was 'the bright and melancholy funny girl.' Right?" "...Because I was waiting for you to become my boyfriend," Song Shuyao said flatly, giving away the answer. Help! Save me! Can I still vanish on the spot?
