The metaphysics expert Gao Bai wandered the cosmos. One day, on a whim, he was born into the Qin Dynasty. He planned to rebel after Qin Shi Huang's death, just to get a taste of being the founding emperor himself.
In the twenty-ninth year of his reign, the First Emperor traveled east. When he reached the sandy expanse of Bolang in Yangwu, an assassin startled him.
Gao Bai hurried to the assassination site. Since he was set on rebellion, he needed strategists and generals.
Zhang Liang was a must-have.
But was Zhang Liang as entertaining to watch as this spectacle? Was any spectacle as entertaining to watch as the First Emperor?
Gao Bai looked at the First Emperor: six-foot-three, broad-shouldered and slim-waisted, handsome, valiant, and imposing. After holding it in for a long moment, he couldn't help letting out a silent “Wow!” in his heart.
That exclamation caught the attention of every great figure whose name would go down in history.
The First Emperor: “This man looks suspicious. Seize him.”
Seeing Qin soldiers quickly approaching, Gao Bai sensed trouble, turned around, and ran.
The First Emperor watched coldly, dismissive.
No one could escape right under his nose.
A moment later, Meng Tian came to accept punishment, carrying brambles on his back. “Your Majesty, the thief escaped.”
The First Emperor: “...”
The First Emperor: “Anyone who can escape right under my nose must be no ordinary person. Search for him with all your might.”
At that moment, Zhang Liang stood dumbfounded in the crowd.
He had clearly seen that the young man had scattered beans that turned into soldiers, allowing him to escape Meng Tian's search.
What kind of technique was that? What kind of person was he?
I must have him.
Just then, another voice rang out: “Whew, good thing I predicted I might be discovered and kept a trick up my sleeve.”
As soon as the voice faded, Gao Bai, who was resting behind a large boulder, suddenly felt the sky darken, as if thick clouds had gathered.
He looked up and found himself face-to-face with several pairs of complicated eyes.
The First Emperor's expression was the most complicated of them all.
Gao Bai: “...”
Gao Bai: “How did this happen?”
Gao Bai: “Could he have predicted my prediction?!”
