[Kaito Shinichi] A Battle of Wits That Never Was

Borrowed a few Mr. and Mrs. Smith tropes, and made up a pair of strangers ten years later (sort of).

On one side, Kudo Shinichi needs to hide the fact that he's still in high school. On the other, Kuroba Kaito needs to hide his identity as an international thief. A battle of wits between two geniuses in love (even more so, sort of).

For dramatic effect, please ignore that Kaitou Kid knows Edogawa Conan's real identity (evil grin). Say it with me: in the world of Conan, putting on glasses is the same as changing your face (firmly).

P.S. There's love at first sight, an old-married-couple vibe despite not knowing each other's identities, and the finished story wound up a hundred thousand miles from the original idea (I got carried away online, too...).

A one-shot, with absolutely no battle of wits (all talk, what can I say?). Don't get your hopes up. It's really just a silly little sweet story...

Some liberties taken. Sorry for any OOC characterization.

Hope you enjoy the story, and happy New Year!
