After My Engagement Was Broken Off, I Became a Construction Maniac

Qi Qian is the chief of the Water Clan.

In another world, nine great houses vie for dominance, with heroes competing to rule the land. The Water Clan, however, is small in number, with many elderly, weak, sick, and disabled members. To survive, they have no choice but to marry off their clan chief and seek the protection of one of the nine powerful clans, the Ice Clan. Carrying the fervent hopes of his elders and fellow clanspeople, Qi Qian travels over mountains and rivers to marry himself off. Halfway there, though, he is informed that the young lord of the Ice Clan already has someone he loves, and the marriage is off.

Overcome with shame and unable to face his people, Qi Qian bangs his head against a tree. He thinks he has died, but then his body sits up on its own.

His own hand touches the blood on his forehead and brushes the dust off his palms. "Why die? Come on, let's go home, build up our hometown, and lead our people to prosperity."

Note:

The couple build a career together. The recipient is the original host, while the pursuer transmigrates into a book and shares the recipient's body at first. Later, he gets a body of his own.
