Cen Cheng pretends to be poor, hoping to lure into her grasp the person she's cherished for years. But her crush isn't playing along. Instead, she turns the tables and decides that Cen Cheng is trying to turn her from straight to gay.

Lin Le is so broke she can barely scrape by. She has a whole bunch of artists under her who are struggling to make a name for themselves. After years of hard work, she still lives in a rental that's scorching in summer and freezing in winter. She expects to spend her whole life alone, without love or tenderness.

At sixteen, Lin Le wrote in her diary, "Life will be bright and splendid in the end, and so will I."

At eighteen, Lin Le wrote in her diary, "I'll just muddle through and take life as it comes."

At twenty-five, Lin Le falls into a tender romance and never climbs back out.

"I live for her."

Cen Cheng gets jealous of Best Actress Min, and the more jealous she gets, the more upset she becomes. She looks at Lin Le, who's sitting nearby with a smile on her lips, then reaches out and pouts. "You're still not going to comfort me? Are you trying to make me die of anger?"

"You'll be left a widow."

Seeing how jealous she's getting, Lin Le quickly takes her darling's hand and placates her with lies, as if soothing a child.

"What's so great about Min Nianqiu? You two aren't a good match! You and I are the perfect couple."

"Exactly, exactly."

"So what if she's an award-winning actress? I can be one too! I'm the one who makes you the most money."

"Yes, yes, of course."

"I'm the one you love."

"Yes, you're the one I love." Lin Le pats her back reassuringly. "They're all just talking nonsense."
