Pretending to Fall in Love [Showbiz]

1.

Top star Yu Weixing has always been aloof and refined, taciturn and distant. In five years since his debut, he's had zero dating rumors and zero kissing scenes, while rumors about his sexuality have appeared one after another without end.

On the day Yu Weixing won the first Best Actor award of his life, the internet suddenly erupted with rumors that he had registered his marriage to Jiang Zhixu, a once-popular actress whose career had faded.

A horde of media rushed to the couple's supposed love nest and surrounded them in the parking lot.

Yu Weixing's face was stern and his lips tightly pressed together as he pushed past the cameras and microphones, then ushered the downcast Jiang Zhixu into the car with an arm around her.

No one knew that half an hour before coming downstairs, the newly exposed couple had signed divorce papers.

Much later, a netizen posted a short video on social media.

On a foreign street, beneath a flock of plaza pigeons and beside a wishing well, a long-haired woman tossed in a coin and closed her eyes to make a wish.

Beside her, a young man watched her intently. His cool expression could barely conceal the faintest hint of tenderness.

The video's audio was faint and muddled, but a familiar voice could just be heard through the phone:

"Darling, you might as well ask me instead of that well."

Everyone thought Yu Weixing and Jiang Zhixu had fallen in love while filming together and were so smitten that they simply had to get married.

Only Jiang Zhixu knew she'd been pretending to fall for him from the very beginning.

As it happened, Yu Weixing was doing the same :)
