On the night Xu Tang got engaged to the second son of the Zhou family.

In the lonely darkness, moonlight spilled across the ground as two figures slowly drew together.

A single wall separated them, as if they belonged to two different worlds.

Behind her was the banquet hall, filled with guests celebrating and raising their glasses.

Before her, a smiling man pinched her earlobe, his gaze fixed firmly on her face.

His voice low, he leaned close and whispered, "If you dare show up at the engagement party tonight..."

Xu Tang smiled and picked up where he left off. "What will happen?"

"I'll go mad, then take you down with me."

She would never know how he had spent the thirty-three days after she disappeared from his home.

For his entire life, Ji Yu had been rational and restrained. His one act of abandon was dragging her into his abyss.
