That would be bad enough, but Lu Ai remembers clearly that this minor character is the first person to die at the beginning of the story. Lu Ai: Help! Why am I the first one sacrificed?! To stay alive, Lu Ai resolutely decides to seek refuge with a righteous big shot. But the righteous big shot says: How can I believe you've sincerely turned away from evil? Here's what you can do: get close to the Demon Lord, whisper in his ear, and act as a spy to win him over! Lu Ai: What?! If I get close to him, I'll die! The righteous big shot: Don't worry. I'll send my prized disciple to protect you in secret! Lu Ai watches as a young man with an otherworldly air (a little fox) walks up to him and says expressionlessly: I'll protect you. Lu Ai: Fine, so I'm playing the beauty in a honey trap! As long as I can stay alive, what role can't I play? Yet more than half a year passes. Under the Demon Lord's command, he's made a huge number of friends and allies, and he's almost become the chief steward of the Demon Lord's harem, but the honey trap still hasn't worked. Late at night, Lu Ai crouches on the roof of the Demon Capital and says to the aloof Li Ji, looking dejected: Your master won't blame me, will he? I sincerely want to be a good person! Heaven and earth can bear witness! Could you talk to your master and put in a good word for me? But Li Ji, a pillar of the righteous path who has transformed into a fluffy little fox and is coolly playing with his own tail, says in silence: You're just not very good at whispering in his ear. Lu Ai: Why are you blaming me now? Look at the Demon Lord's harem! Damn it, there are heaps of cannon-fodder beauties. I don't even know if I'll be alive by the time my turn comes to get close to him! At that, Li Ji silently perks up his ears: Then whisper in my ear now. Lu Ai: What?!
