Ming Li married Huo Yan, her bodyguard: a cold-hearted man who kept his distance from women.

Their marriage was for one year.

They thought they'd each get what they wanted, but after the wedding, they kept crossing the line.

Then one day, Ming Li woke up in Huo Yan's arms, dazed by what had happened.

Huo Yan lazily lit a cigarette, his handsome face icy. "Aren't you going to take responsibility?"

That night, Ming Li tied the man's hands and feet and threw the divorce papers in his face.

The next second, the world spun.

Huo Yan undid his shirt buttons with one hand and advanced on her. He kissed her red lips and teased her until she cried.

His voice was cool and dangerous, yet tangled with tender affection.

"You tied me up all wrong. Be good, and your husband will teach you how it's done."

"Do you still want a divorce, hmm?"

Everyone was waiting to laugh at Ming Li, the fake heiress.

But who could have guessed that the bodyguard they mocked was the head of Lincheng's most prominent elite family, the wealthy young man every socialite wanted to marry?

And no one could have imagined that Huo Yan would spoil her to the point of madness.

They'd finally heard the news that Ming Li was getting divorced, and were about to mock her, when they saw this in full view of everyone:

Ming Li stood beside one of her suitors, her eyes hazy with drunkenness and a seductive smile on her lips. "Can't you understand? I don't want you anymore."

But the dignified man pinned her in place and kissed her passionately, his eyes bloodshot. "If you don't want me, then who do you want, hmm?"

"Come back to me. I'll give you anything you want."

Later, the secret Huo Yan had hidden was finally discovered:

He had loved her for years.

Everything he'd done was only to make her his one and only lawful wife.
