At nineteen, Shi Ran fell in love with Cen Yan, who was seven years older than her. Their romance caused a sensation.

At twenty-four, after suffering psychological trauma, Shi Ran returned to China.

The two reunited.

In the men's restroom of a hotel, the man's long legs blocked her way, their poses intimate.

Shi Ran smiled. "What do you want?"

His gaze was dark as he clasped her waist and held her firmly in place, his breath warm. "Shi Ran, I'm pursuing you."

At a gathering, Shi Ran got dead drunk and was asked why she had rejected Cen Yan.

Her eyes hazy with intoxication, Shi Ran smiled. "Oh, because... he can't perform."

That night, Cen Yan pinned Shi Ran firmly in the car.

"I can't perform? Hmm?"

In the eyes of outsiders, Cen Yan was distant and indifferent, self-controlled and chaste, with no women in his eyes.

Yet this cold-hearted man treated Shi Ran like a queen.

No one knew that during the years Shi Ran was gone, Cen Yan's longing for her had become an illness, reaching down to his very bones.

Even fewer knew that every time Cen Yan ever lost control in his life, it was because of Shi Ran.

[Before you dive in]

1. A stunning, overbearing war photographer X a cold, chaste CEO with an overwhelming possessive streak

2. One-on-one romance, both leads are each other's first and only love. The male lead loves only the female lead from beginning to end.

3. A reunion after a long separation, with the male lead desperately trying to win his wife back. A melodramatic, clichéd romance, with angst before sweetness.

4. The war photographer details are based on documentaries. The setting is partly fictionalized, so please kindly point out any errors.
