The heir of the King of Beihai was to marry the second daughter of the Bai family of Wuxing. The wedding procession, blessed by the waters, set out from the East Sea and sailed north to Qingzhou.
But only a day into the journey, before the bride had even boarded the ship, bandits abducted her.
This was a real predicament for Bai Mang, who had come from southern Yunnan and joined the procession hoping to hitch a ride. What was worse, the second daughter of the Bai family wasn't even in the bridal carriage. Somehow, Bai Mang had become the bride instead.
Just then, the great hero Yu Linzhou went up the mountain to deal with the bandits. He picked her up and put her aboard the wedding ship, sorting everything out neatly.
A hurricane overturned the sea. Across the vast blue waters, stretching three thousand li, Bai Mang and Yu Linzhou drifted along on a small boat. By chance, they broke through the barrier around Penglai and floated all the way to Fenglin Isle, where they happened to pick up a monster. And so began their journey across the Ten Isles of the Sea.
[I sail across the vast sea, my song rising over Fenglin Isle]
