Embers

It was only supposed to be a surgery.

Cheng Xueye never expected to end up in a romantic battlefield.

Her ex-boyfriend, whom she'd treated like dirt, and the secret crush who once treated her like dirt both showed up in her hospital room.

What should she do?

Is it too late to pull out her IV and discharge herself?

An unexpected nightmare had entangled her for ten years.

Cheng Xueye had imagined countless times what it would be like to see Shen Cheng again.

She thought she could calmly greet him

and ask, "How have you been all these years?"

"You're doing well. I'm doing pretty well, too."

The fireworks from that year had finally burned down to ashes.
