On the Qualities of a Bad Student

[Read with caution]: No romance. Set in a modern fictional society, with a lighthearted, hilarious tone and an unconventional approach to realism. Enter at your own risk.

Wei Xiaoba is known as a fake top student, but he's the real deal. From childhood to adulthood, the only subjects he couldn't ace were languages; he scored nearly perfect marks in everything else. From elementary school through university and even into the working world, his life was one near-perfect report card after another. It made him a perfectionist who was demanding about every little detail.

Then, after his girlfriend cheated on him for the ninety-ninth time, he was in a car accident on his way home from work and suddenly transmigrated to another world, becoming a sophomore in high school who was taking a placement test.

Wei Xiaoba was full of confidence. These questions were child's play, he thought. He could get perfect marks without even trying. But when the results came out, he had scored nearly perfectly in every subject, yet ranked dead last in the whole school and was publicly reprimanded. The top student had scored zero?

Wei Xiaoba: What kind of world is this? Can somebody explain?
