After Being Abandoned, I Married the Ghost King

[Updates irregularly. Read at your own risk!]

Gu Mo was abandoned in the wilderness on a dark, stormy night. He was lucky not to be eaten by wild animals, but the injured Ghost King took him back to his lair as emergency rations.

The first day after bringing him back.

The Ghost King looked at the little one, fair and soft, with dimples in his cheeks when he smiled.

He reached out to snap the little one's neck, but the child grabbed his finger and wouldn't let go.

The Ghost King lowered his eyes and thought, I'll let you stay one more day.

That one day turned into more than ten years.

When Gu Mo's parents took him back at eighteen, the Ghost King silently crushed a glass cup and sat right through a white bone chair.

The Ghost King thought, The next time I see the little one, I'll give him a proper scolding!

Only after returning to the Gu family did Gu Mo learn that his parents had taken him back because the family was in trouble and they wanted to use him as a pawn to fill a vacancy.

And his being "separated" from them all those years ago had been deliberate.

On the night of the ghost wedding.

Gu Mo watched the ceremony coldly.

At midnight, his ghostly wedding partner appeared, trembling, and knelt before Gu Mo, begging for mercy.

"Waaah, I was wrong! Ghost Queen, please spare me!"

Gu Mo: "What ghost queen?"

Everyone else: "!!!"

Had they somehow provoked someone they shouldn't have?!!!

The Ghost King, hidden in the shadows, quietly took all the credit.

More than ten years ago, the Gu couple abandoned their benefactor's child in the wilderness for money.

The child's cries grew fainter in the pouring rain.

The couple walked away with no regard for their conscience, and thanks to that person's help, their fortunes soared.

But eighteen years later, that person demanded they take back the child they had abandoned.

The moment Gu's father saw the child, he knew their family was close to ruin.
