And he, a supporting-character master, would soon raise two of the story's protagonists:

The other was the villainous demon, who would destroy the world and eventually fall to the demonic path to become a Demon Venerable, despised by all.

The villain would kill the male lead, slaughter the sect, derail the plot, and finally turn Xuanshan Li into a human pig.

A "System" that suddenly appeared in his mind told him.

Xuanshan Li looked down.

A little snake that could take human form had just been beaten into a cripple by him and was kneeling at his feet.

The little snake was a demon disciple who had happened to come up the mountain and join the sect.

Hearing this, Xuanshan Li drew his sword to kill him, but the System stopped him.

The System instructed him: [You have to move him with love and put him back on the right path!]

Xuanshan Li said expressionlessly, "I've already dug out his golden core."

System: "..."

Xuanshan Li: "He must already want to kill me."

System: :)

There's always a way around every problem.

The System made Xuanshan Li a secret identity. He took on the role of the sect's "eldest senior brother" and approached the little snake under his new identity. He treated his wounds, helped him cultivate, and taught him swordsmanship. After decades of being guided back to the right path, the little snake finally turned toward righteousness.

When everything seemed to be done, both the System and Xuanshan Li couldn't be bothered to keep pretending. They put on a show and let the senior brother die.

But at a later plot point, the little snake turned evil.

He pointed his sword at Xuanshan Li, each word drenched in blood: "Pay with your life for senior brother!"

The mission had failed.

The little snake wanted to kill Xuanshan Li.

The System had no choice. After a digital sigh, it spent its last points to give Sect Leader Xuan one option:
