A lighthearted, ridiculous, trope-subverting story: an overwhelmingly powerful, sharp-tongued bottom x a pretend-gentle, theatrical top
Chi Jiuwei was a proper master in a cultivation novel, devoted to his cultivation and indifferent to worldly affairs.
Until one day, the world's whole style changed.
All five of his disciples had somehow awakened to the script of a master-disciple romance.
His eldest disciple was obsessive and deranged, the second turned dark and sought revenge, the third secretly pined for him, and the fourth wanted to take him by force.
Even Ning Hui, his youngest disciple, who had always been obedient and sensible, began timidly acting coy and playing weak around him.
Overnight, the sect fell into chaos. The neighboring immortal sects fell one after another, and master-disciple dramas were happening everywhere.
The entire cultivation world had been invaded by master-disciple romance plots.
The cries for help from his old friends never stopped, and Chi Jiuwei became their only hope.
He decided to leave and personally set the wayward Heavenly Dao straight again.
Before he left, his young disciple Ning Hui tugged pitifully at his sleeve, covered in bruises from taking beatings for him.
Chi Jiuwei thought he looked the most harmless of them all, and would never survive among his deranged senior brothers. So he simply brought him along.
But he never imagined...
Even after order was restored to the cultivation world, Ning Hui still hadn't come to his senses.
If anything, he had gone even crazier.
Ning Hui transmigrated into a book as the youngest disciple under Chi Jiuwei.
Chi Jiuwei was the apple of his eye: peerlessly beautiful, profoundly skilled, and nearly flawless, except that he never spared anyone with his words.
The problem was that everyone in this orthodox cultivation novel followed the plot diligently and focused on their careers, leaving Ning Hui no opportunities at all.
Then one day, his four senior brothers inexplicably went mad, fighting over their master until they were bloody.
Ning Hui: I'm doomed.
Unable to bear watching his master fall into the hands of these lunatics and suffer, Ning Hui joined the fray at lightning speed.
He couldn't out-crazy his senior brothers, so he stuck to what he did best: acting sweet and obedient. That made him seem especially normal.
He had planned to fight to the death and take on the plot by force.
His master worried he would be bullied and took him along without a second thought.
As they traveled, Ning Hui watched his master, cold on the outside but warm-hearted, caring for him at every turn and even protecting him with his life...
Ning Hui's eyes turned red.
He wanted to go crazy, too.
