My Scheming Boyfriend

The new novel, The Scum Gong's Dramatic White Moonlight, is currently being serialized:

He Zhi woke up one day to find he'd become the pathetic bottom in some trashy campus romance novel.

He never talked back, never left when he was told to go, was delicate and soft, and cried nonstop.

He was so pathetic he had no dignity at all, so pathetic he infuriated everyone, so pathetic that anyone who saw him wanted to kick his head clean off.

Even the scum gong himself thought so.

So the three things he said most often to He Zhi were, "Annoying!" "Disgusting!" and "Get lost!"

He Zhi clutched his trouser leg, tears in his eyes. "Don't leave me... I'll do anything you want... Just don't go... Don't go..."

Until one day-

Qin Yue, the scum gong himself, happened to open the book He Zhi treasured above all else, How to Win a Man's Heart. On its pristine white title page were seven bold words: The Actor's Art of Self-Cultivation.

And in the blank space was a familiar handwriting, the same one that had written him countless love letters: Daily reminder, you fucking idiot Qin Yue, I'm your daddy!

Qin Yue: "Care to explain?"

He Zhi: "My life is so hard."

The guys noticed that their bro Yue had lately been going out of his way to pick on that clueless, lovesick kid. Every time, he'd verbally tear into him, but never laid a hand on him.

Everyone praised him in their hearts. Their boss really was something else, a true gentleman.

"If I leave, don't come running after me!"

Qin Yue was furious, the veins in his arm bulging.

"Good riddance!"

How had this kid gotten so cocky? Everyone was baffled, until Qin Yue, who had been walking slower and slower, stopped and punched the wall.

"You little brat, you really aren't coming after me!"

Everyone's jaws hit the floor.

My buddy and I grew up together, from elementary school through college. We went to the same school all the way through, got into the same major, and even became roommates.

To everyone else, we were the picture of brotherly harmony. But without my knowledge, he'd been harboring an unspeakable agenda toward me.

One day, his wolfish ambitions were finally laid bare, and I was thrown into a panic.

I thought turning him down would make him give up, but...

Was that really an excuse for him to flirt with me openly?

Ha. It's all one big scheme.

Question: What should I do if the guy pursuing me is too calculating?

Answer: The best solution is to give in.
