Early historical romance, read with caution

Tang Jiu is the young master of the Tang family. Gifted and skilled with every weapon, he is adored by his elders. His life is going swimmingly, but he has been betrothed to the eldest daughter of the Jing family, and he has never been happy about it.

Tang Jiu: "That Jing girl is nowhere near good enough for me. She must be dreaming."

Later, the Tang family defies the throne and incurs the emperor's wrath. Tang Jiu is exiled to the border, and on the day he leaves, Miss Jing is the only one who comes to see him off.

Tang Jiu: "From now on, we'll each marry whoever we please, and have nothing to do with each other. You don't need to see me off. What are you doing here? I really don't like you."

Hearing him criticize her even now, Miss Jing clenched her little fists again and again, but in the end she couldn't hold back and punched Tang Jiu in the face. Blood appeared at the corner of his mouth. Stunned, he covered his cheek and glared at her through gritted teeth. "Little mute, you'd better pray you never fall into my hands!"

Over the next five years, Tang Jiu changed his name and identity, carefully plotting every step as he fought his way from the border back to the capital. With the military in his grasp, he forced the emperor to make him Prince Regent.

Everyone in the streets says the Prince Regent is deeply hostile toward Miss Jing. They say she once kicked him while he was down, and he has held a grudge ever since.
