[Yang Xiao of The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber] A Worthy Opponent

Yang Xiao x Zhao Min (if you can't accept this pairing, please steer clear)

Basically a story with no logic whatsoever. (A mountain of personal headcanons: 1. Yang Xiao never met Ji Xiaofu and stayed single; Ji Xiaofu married Yin Liting. 2. I forced the age gap between Zhao Min and Yang Xiao to be over a decade: Zhao Min is seventeen or eighteen, and Yang Xiao is in his thirties. 3.…)

I.

"If you have nowhere else to go, why not come back to Bright Summit with me?"

Zhao Min smiled with pursed lips. "Come back to Bright Summit with you? What position does Left Envoy Yang plan to offer me?"

"Whatever you like. For example, the kitchen needs a cook, the courtyard needs a page, the classroom needs an instructor, and the Left Envoy needs a wife."

Yang Xiao looked at Zhao Min and answered her with complete seriousness. "But I think those first three jobs would be a waste of your talents."

"Oh? So the Left Envoy is really only giving me one choice?"

"Not at all. You have plenty of choices. It's mainly up to you." Yang Xiao looked perfectly composed, as if he didn't care at all what Zhao Min would say.

"Yang Xiao."

"Hmm?"

"Do you know who I am?"

You are Zhao Min, the girl I like.

"If one day I make you choose between me and the Ming Cult…" Zhao Min leaned close to Yang Xiao, smiling brightly. "What would you choose?"
