A Guide to Making Use of Trash [Interstellar]

[1] Pei Jingnan is transported to an interstellar age teeming with superpowered people, going from a highly paid corporate slave to an ordinary person barely scraping by on minimum benefits. But he's sweet-tongued, and makes Pei Jingnan feel so appreciated that he resolutely shoulders the burden of supporting them both. After receiving countless rejection letters, Pei Jingnan is finally accepted by a remote mecha academy. He's just about to ask the school if they can help arrange something for the little good-for-nothing at home when he spots a student ID for the very same school in the guy's bag. “I... can explain.” Hearing his feeble cough, Pei Jingnan frowns. “Did you have to take a leave of absence because people bullied you after you got sick? Don't worry, I'll be with you!” [2] Pei Jingnan leads his team to bring honor to the school in the Alliance's mecha tournament and expects to collect his prize money, but instead the administration calls him in for a talk. “Someone says your relationship is too conspicuous and is having a bad influence.” The principal opens his inbox on his wrist terminal and pulls up surveillance footage of this outstanding student, asking him to explain. “This is when Student Lu got hurt in mecha combat class. I was taking him back to the dorm.” “This is when I helped Student Lu practice controlling his powers before the final exams.” “Ah, Student Lu has trauma from the starbeast stampede. I was worried it would affect his performance in the competition the next day, so I let him stay in my dorm.” The principal is silent for a long time. “Student Lu used to attend Central University of the Alliance.
