The Investiture of the Gods

Jiang Ling died amid a storm of vitriolic abuse. When he woke up, another soul had taken over his body. Half a month later, the metaphysics master Jiang Ling became an online sensation. Reading the heavens and divining fate, drawing talismans and setting up formations, catching ghosts and exorcising demons, moving souls and refining spirits... He could do it all with ease. Bizarre livestreams, spiritual games, footage of ghost soldiers, forbidden-zone expeditions... From the mysterious, remote forests of southern Yunnan to the ruins of Loulan buried beneath the yellow sands... In the 21st century, the myriad gods have vanished, and the immortals are gone. What Jiang Ling has to do is appoint the gods. Before the sun rose, heaven and earth were an endless expanse of primordial chaos. Jiang Ling walked through the dust step by step, took Ji Ting's hand, and offered him the primordial spiritual treasure he'd just obtained. "I'll find you a better one next time." Heaven's Will: "Do you remember your mission?" Jiang Ling: "Appointing the gods." Heaven's Will: "And what are you doing?" Jiang Ling: "Dating." Sickly top X cool, aloof bottom Mutual pining and mutual affection [The author has been driven crazy by the title and blurb. Just know it's a wish-fulfillment story about a max-level expert returning to the beginner village.] Note: 1. A simple story, not meant to withstand scrutiny. Please don't nitpick. 2. A wish-fulfillment story with a golden finger, but not suitable for readers who are particular about their favorite characters. 3. Inspired by the wreath shop in my hometown, and partly based on local supernatural legends. 4. Most importantly, the protagonist's values do not represent the author's. Theme: Fight organized crime, combat corruption, work at the grassroots level, and connect with the people
