When the Summer Breeze Arrives

At six years old, Gu Zhiyi met Xia Xiaofeng. After that, a little shadow she couldn’t shake followed her everywhere.

Gu Zhiyi: "Can you stop following me?"

Xia Xiaofeng: "You’re so pretty! I like you, so I’m going to follow you."

Gu Zhiyi: "Shameless."

Years later, fourteen-year-old Gu Zhiyi met Xia Xiaofeng, who was working odd jobs by the seaside. She fed dolphins at the aquarium and was a young member of a charity organization that cared for autistic children. Together with the dolphins, she helped children with autism.

That year, Gu Zhiyi’s younger brother, Gu Zhiwei, who had severe autism, was sent to that organization.

Gu Zhiyi and Xia Xiaofeng promised they would be together forever.

After the most wonderful summer, Gu Zhiyi’s parents sent her away.

At eighteen, Gu Zhiyi was sent to a seaside town because it was a good place for Gu Zhiwei to receive treatment. Gu Zhiyi became a rebellious troublemaker, an unlikeable bad kid who got into fights all the time. There, she met the kind-hearted Xia Xiaofeng.

This time, we promised we’d never be apart again.
