The Prince Harbors Treasonous Ambitions

Blurb

In the sixth year of Yonghui, court officials urge the selection of an imperial consort to enter the palace and stabilize the realm.

As the Empress Nie Sheng sits upon her throne, searching for a tactful way to refuse, Prince Heng, who has so far said nothing, suddenly steps forward and declares, "I support the proposal."

Nie Sheng sneers inwardly. Wasn't he the one who quietly tossed her personal guard into a pond yesterday just for looking at her a little too long?

Sure enough, on the night the imperial consort is sent into the palace, Nie Sheng sees him tied up like a parcel in the corner, tears streaming down his face as he begs her for help with his eyes.

Meanwhile, the prince who used the opportunity to sneak into the harem is perfectly at ease, holding a glutinous rice cake in one hand and a fried meatball in the other, his irresistible, flirtatious eyes smiling at her.

If Nie Sheng hadn't seen him swing his sword and send his opponent's head flying, she might actually believe that the man before her was a docile wolf.

A prince who schemes desperately to win his beauty's heart X a ruthless empress who falls into his trap by accident

Reader's Guide

1. This is not a matriarchy. The romance isn't angsty, and the story is a slow burn~

2. The logic may go missing from time to time.

2. The setting is fictional (please don't nitpick!!!)
