Invitation to Your Doom

Tao Lingyu clicked a pop-up ad and won a seven-day cruise.

The truth was, she had been made someone else's sacrificial stand-in and sent into a game world.

In this world, the survival items other people drew were knives, bandages, or, at worst, a doll.

Tao Lingyu drew perfume, lipstick, gold necklaces...

Draw perfume, and the boss is a lady who can't stand its scent. Draw a necklace, and the boss is a maid-hunting thief from house to house. Draw lipstick...

Tao Lingyu: I'm out.

Fortunately, the perfume could turn into pearls, which she could use to bribe ghosts; the lipstick gave her a ten-minute true-love filter; and the gold necklace could randomly activate a protective barrier...

Tao Lingyu: I can still scrape by.

In the end, any ghost trying to attack Tao Lingyu had to watch out for its underlings being bribed with pearls into protecting her and stabbing them in the back. So they kept dozens of meters away from Tao Lingyu and their underlings. But the protective barrier activated at random, and its radius varied. Stand too far away and get caught in it, and you'd be physically sent to the afterlife. Try to get close and finish her off quickly? Then you'd have to watch out for Tao Lingyu wearing lipstick, armed with her true-love filter, red lips and pearly teeth, smiling like a flower as she grabbed their hands, confessed her love, and physically sent them to the afterlife.

Ghosts: We might not be human, but Tao Lingyu is seriously awful!

Bonus scene version:

Tao Lingyu (terrified): Don't come any closer!

Ghost: Easy win.

After the mission ends:

Ghost: Don't come any closer! (trying to pass through a wall)

Theme: Human will can overcome fate.
