[Les Miserables] Miss Cosette's Wish

Miss Cosette once had three wishes.

When her mother, Fantine, was still by her side, her greatest wish was to have the doll displayed in the shop window on the street.

Later, when her mother left her in the care of the Thénardiers' inn, her greatest wish was for her mother to come and take her home. She also hoped she wouldn't have to work on her birthday, and that someone would give her a present, play with her, and stroke her head as they said, "Cosette, I love you very much."

Later still, her dying mother entrusted her to a man who raised her. When she grew up, she met an idealistic young man, and they fell in love. Her greatest wish then was for the passionate student to return safely. She hoped they would be together forever, year after year, sharing every day.

In the end, all of Miss Cosette's wishes came true. She felt that this man was the best gift she had ever received in her life.

Pairing: Jean Valjean x Cosette

(Yes, this is an unexpectedly sudden burst of inspiration for this Antarctic-level rare pair. I wanted to write an older-man/young-girl romance, but I searched every tag and couldn't find anyone writing them. I refuse to accept this! (Mostly, Ramin Karimloo's Jean Valjean is just... wow. I'll probably base him on Ramin's Jean Valjean, with a little Dominic West mixed in.)

Based on the original novel, the musical, and a little bit of the BBC Les Misérables (Honestly, the BBC adaptation was... well, but with my shipper goggles on, I thought it was pretty good...)

It's probably going to be romance-brained from start to finish. I don't really want to get too deeply into topics like the revolution, since my writing and my brain both have their limits. I really just want to write some sweet moments QAQ

In my eyes, Cosette is a little angel with blond hair and blue eyes. After she is rescued, she is very well protected and lives like a kind-hearted little princess in an ivory tower. She is the embodiment of love and beauty. I won't accept any criticism or nitpicking that paints her in a bad light (important!)

(I'll add more if I think of anything...)

Finally, don't let the blurb fool you. So far I haven't thought of a plot that could give this a happy ending, so it may actually end in tragedy (warning!!)

I'll continue updating this and several of my other ongoing stories on AO3. Reposts to the old site will be sporadic, depending mostly on how good my memory is, emmmmm. As for this site, whether the chapters pass review is entirely up to chance orz
