They had to acknowledge that person as their master and obediently let themselves be eaten. As the only ginseng spirit to attain sentience in his clan's millions of years of history, A Yuan had always lived a quiet, honest life. Until one day, an incredibly handsome big brother dropped a red string on him. He'd been caught. He was going to be eaten. Crying, A Yuan packed his bags, washed himself clean, and set off to find his master. But his master's bed was a little too soft, and the food was a little too delicious. A Yuan couldn't help wanting to live a couple more days. He told himself he should get nice and plump so his master would enjoy eating him. Ever since Mu Qi dropped the red cord bracelet that had protected him, he'd noticed some strange things: For example, the bedding beside him was warm when he woke up in the morning. Or a huge bag of snacks could be dragged out from under the bed during spring cleaning. Then one night, Mu Qi suddenly woke up in the middle of the night and saw a little beauty lying beside him-- !!!!! The little beauty had his clothes half pulled up, showing off his round belly after sneaking some fried chicken, and was fast asleep. Mu Qi: "..." Later, Mu Qi realized that looking after a little ginseng spirit took more effort and money than having a partner. Maybe he should pick an auspicious day and brew him into liquor. The auspicious day was picked... Wait, no, he's too cute. I'll spoil him instead. *Soft, adorable, food-loving bottom × aloof, celibate, anorexic big-shot top *The top used to be an idol and is now a chef. When he gets over his emotional hang-ups, there's a little face-slapping in the entertainment industry, but after that the focus is on raising the little ginseng spirit, making money, and building a career. [Archrivals, secretly in love with each other] [The crush on his idol is fake, the first love is fake, and getting drunk is fake too] Xu Zhuo and Du Qingli, two of S City's richest men, have been archrivals for ten years. They're utterly at odds and can't stand each other. At a mutual friend's wedding, they "accidentally" get drunk... The next morning, they wake up: Xu Zhuo rubs his aching head. "I drank too much. Don't get the wrong idea. Your nose looks a lot like the idol I've secretly loved for ten years. I got carried away last night." Du Qingli scoffs. "Don't read too much into it either. Your fingernail looks a lot like my first love's. I was impulsive last night." What a coincidence. Sounds great. So, shall we keep using each other as stand-ins? Deal. By day-- In private, they cling together like Siamese twins, fingers interlaced, holding each other tight and kissing passionately. Xu Zhuo wraps his arms around his neck. "We're just..." Du Qingli nuzzles him, never satisfied. "Stand-ins. I know." Xu Zhuo: "Whoever falls first is a dog." Du Qingli: "Mm." At night-- Xu Zhuo, who claims he's going out to meet his idol, clings to a friend and sobs. "He still hasn't memorized my phone number. He doesn't love me!" Du Qingli, pretending he's going out to see a movie with his first love, calls a friend to complain. "It's been one minute since I parted from Zhuozhuo, and I already miss him so much!" Friends: ...?
