Which Planet Are You From?

[She became a fan, then chased her own way into becoming a top-tier star 😎]

1.

Chu Qi was a starstruck fan. She became an entertainer for one simple reason: Yu Chu.

Everyone else: I can debut and become a big star!

Chu Qi: I can debut and get up close with my idol!

After joining the industry and becoming Yu Chu's colleague, Chu Qi thought, Now I can be a fan to my heart's content!

When Yu Chu was cold, she knitted him a scarf. When he was hot, she brought him iced milk tea. When he was sick, she fussed over him. When he acted like a diva around her, she indulged him unconditionally. On his birthday, even if she had to take a red-eye flight to make it to work, she still made sure to deliver her birthday wishes right on time.

When fans called her a nobody who had no business piggybacking on Yu Chu's popularity, she didn't mind. She'd just make herself a huge star too. Then surely no one could object to her being a fan, right?

Through Chu Qi's efforts, she not only became Yu Chu's close friend, but also an idol who could stand shoulder to shoulder with him. Her star power soared, and she gained tens of millions of fans.

Just when she felt her life was complete, Yu Chu unexpectedly confessed to her.

Chu Qi was confused: “?”

Chu Qi was awkward: “Um, you might not believe me, but being a fan and being in love with a man are two different things.”

Chu Qi pleaded: “So can you please not get in the way of my career? Even if you're my idol, the answer is still no. Thanks.”

2.

Yu Chu had been having a lot of headaches lately.

He had a little fan who'd liked him for years, and had even become an entertainer for his sake.

She fussed over him every day and had a whole arsenal of tricks for winning him over.

Yu Chu was grateful for her support over the years, but her pursuit of him also gave him a headache.

But when he finally overcame his reservations and decided to risk being branded a “couple fan” to start a passionate secret romance with his little fan,

she told him she only had pure, innocent feelings for him as a fan. She didn't want to date him and asked him not to get in the way of her career.

Yu Chu was confused: “?”

Yu Chu sneered: “So you're saying I got the wrong idea?”

Yu Chu laughed in anger: “Well, aren't you something.”

Much later

“Pure, innocent feelings as a fan, is that it?”

Yu Chu gently bit her crimson earlobe and asked, though he already knew the answer, “Are they still innocent now?”

Chu Qi: “...”

Do you see? The little girl who was once basked in your light has now become a brilliant first-magnitude star herself.

I see.

Stunning beauty × stunning beauty

Mary Sue × Gary Stu

Natural flirt × master of his own delusions

A bright little dog who doesn't know she's baiting him × an aloof beauty who doesn't realize he's taken the bait

* [Before you buy]: Lots of celebrity slice-of-life scenes and irreverent fan-forum posts, including plenty of messy fan arguments. The author just likes writing them. If this isn't your thing, think carefully before buying.

*The heroine isn't a top-tier star from the start. She has a career arc, and the romance is a slow burn. The leads don't get together until close to the end.

*This is about idols dating!!!! If you can't stand that, don't buy it! Save your money and get yourself a cup of milk tea instead, please!

[Content warnings]

1. The whole entertainment industry goes wild. Both leads attract ships with everyone they stand beside, not just each other. There are plenty of shipping scenes with other characters too, especially the heroine. This is the author's personal guilty pleasure, and she likes writing scenes where the hero gets jealous about it.

2. This isn't realistic. The entertainment industry is a utopia, and the career plot isn't based on the Chinese entertainment industry but on Japan and Korea. The novel has no connection to real life. At heart, it's just a shipping novel about two idols dating. Readers who automatically view everything from the perspective of an exclusive fan shouldn't read it. (If it makes you mad, you're not getting your money back.)

3. There are no real-life inspirations. Don't read into it. There are only so many idol character types, so any similarities are purely coincidental.
