How to Raise a Little Flower Demon

Le He, an ancient green lotus, woke from a deep slumber to discover that she had become a bowl lotus growing in someone else's home. Not only had a thousand years of cultivation gone to waste, but she had also reverted to her juvenile form. Holding up her two wilted little lotus leaves, Le He was close to tears. Fortunately, her caretaker was a "portable charger." As long as she clung to him, she could absorb an abundance of spiritual energy.

Le He: I'm never letting him go!

Liang Moyuan, who works part-time as a science blogger, is known online as a "druid" because he's never met a plant he couldn't keep alive. Then his followers noticed he had gotten another bowl lotus. It had only two or three leaves, and its stem was as thin as a strand of hair. It looked doomed from the start.

Follower 1: I have a lot of faith in our blogger, but this one really looks like a tough case.

Follower 2: Same. This poor little thing looks like it won't live past tomorrow.

Follower 3: You're just joking around, right? You don't actually believe that, do you?!

Liang Moyuan read the comments, glanced at the lotus leaves wrapped around his wrist, then at the obnoxious bird in his home, which was being beaten by a little flower spirit and squawking in agony. He gave a scornful laugh. Look at how lively it is. Not only will it survive, but in a few decades it might even be able to look after me in my old age and carry the brazier at my funeral!

Le He: I thought you were my caretaker, but you want to be my dad!
