Reborn as the Short-Lived Supporting Character's White Moonlight

Feng Tang transmigrates into an old-fashioned, melodramatic romance novel as the eldest princess of the current dynasty. In the original, she's the scapegoat third female lead who takes the blame for everything on behalf of the heroine.

The princess in the novel has a big heart. After learning that the heroine is her long-lost younger sister, she helps her time and again.

But the heroine wants to take the princess's place, so she frames her in every way imaginable and even steals the princess's betrothed, the future consort.

The future consort is the scheming male lead, the one who sets the tragic romance in motion.

The princess ultimately watches her country and family fall. When the city is breached, she leaps from its walls.

Feng Tang: “I'm done being a self-sacrificing saint!”

After reviewing the plot, Feng Tang kicks the future consort aside and turns to the arms of General Yan Hui, who has admired her for a long time but isn't destined to live very long.

General Yan is famous for being decisive and ruthless, and for keeping people at arm's length. She has won countless military honors and holds immense power at court. Many have tried to take the tiger tally from her and seize command of her troops, only to be cut down by her blade.

Later, people see the usually cold General Yan smiling warmly in front of the princess, while Feng Tang tearfully clings to her and says, “General, someone's picking on me...”

Yan Hui: “Then kill them.”

Everyone: ...

Isn't a fearsome god of death paired with a fairy a little incongruous?
