After dying unexpectedly, Shen Ruofei was bound to a System and became the female protagonist's unrequited love in a melodramatic ABO novel. The System ordered her to follow the original plot and play a promiscuous, hedonistic scum Alpha. Once the female protagonist lost hope in her and got together with her destined partner, she would be free of the System.

Shen Ruofei: Just kill me already!

The female protagonist was surrounded by a crowd of high-quality Alphas watching her like hawks. Was Shen Ruofei supposed to risk her life, hurt the female protagonist over and over, and wait for her love rivals to finish her off?!

But the System said she would die if she refused to play her role.

Shen Ruofei: Fine, I'll do it!

To save time, Shen Ruofei gathered all the destined partner's rivals in a group chat and told them how to win the female protagonist's heart. In reality, she gave them one wrong suggestion after another.

The rivals asked, "How can I win her heart?"

Shen Ruofei: "Show her your most authentic self, just like I do. Once she sees what makes you special, she'll naturally fall for you."

The rivals asked again, "And what makes you special?"

Shen Ruofei beamed with confidence. "I'm rich, gorgeous, and smart. Most importantly, I understand boundaries. I never go out of my way to see her or bother her. Remember: distance makes the heart grow fonder."

The rivals: So that's how it works! Got it!!!

Once the female protagonist finally fell in love with her destined partner, the System automatically shut down. Shen Ruofei cheered at her newfound freedom and was just about to start living the life she wanted when an Alpha trapped her in a parking lot.

Xia Wu, one of the destined partner's fiercest rivals, was stunningly beautiful, with a sinister and obsessive personality. At first she was gentle and considerate, but later, following Shen Ruofei's advice, she accidentally revealed her true nature and was eliminated from the competition by the female protagonist.

She had long held a grudge against Shen Ruofei. Now she planted both hands on the hood of Shen Ruofei's sports car, leaving faint palm prints, her expression cold and eerie.

"If I can't have her because of you, then you'll have to make it up to me by being mine."

Shen Ruofei: I'm doomed!!!

Later, after successfully winning Shen Ruofei's heart, Xia Wu was as docile as a kitten. She would take Shen Ruofei's hand in front of anyone and say, "Yes, we're very much in love."

After seeing Xia Wu's smug delight at putting on a different face in public and in private, Shen Ruofei could only think: ...I'll get used to it.

Reader's guide:

1. Both leads are Alphas, and either can take the lead. The worldbuilding is entirely my own, so don't overthink it. The details are in the story.

2. Shen Ruofei is the same person from beginning to end. Xia Wu has always loved only Shen Ruofei. The original female protagonist is just passing through their world.

3. The story is a little slow to warm up. The plot is made up as I go, all in service of the romance.

4. If you think something that can't be explicitly written is there, then it is. If you think it isn't, then it isn't. Jiang's ABO stories only allow gland romance above the neck.
