A Guide to Raising Lucky Carp

Shi Yan was an amateur Celestial Master listed with the Association. On one of his missions, he rescued a little koi from the jaws of a ferocious beast.

As a superstitious believer in the idea that a koi could turn around a run of bad luck, he brought the little fish home with him.

Who would have thought that when he woke in the middle of the night, he would find shards of glass from the fish tank scattered across the floor?

"Wait, where's my fish?"

Heng Danlong squatted nearby, stark naked, staring at him expressionlessly. "I'm hungry."

From then on, a generation's great Celestial Master had his hands full raising a kid, worrying himself sick like an old dad.

"I'm not a professional, but at least I know a thing or two about feng shui, exorcising ghosts, catching the occasional post-1949 demon, and making a little pocket money as a Celestial..."

"Oh, a fraud, then."

"...Master."

In the northern wilderness lies a stone lake, a thousand li across, with banks more than five zhang deep. It is frozen all year, thawing only for fifty or sixty days around the summer solstice. There is a Henggong fish, seven or eight chi long, shaped like a carp with red eyes. It stays in the lake by day and turns into a human at night., The Classic of Divine Marvels
