Zhou Tang isn't a good person. He's hardly ever done anything good, but he doesn't think he's bad, either. He's just a coward who looks out for his own interests and avoids trouble.
He got into Qin Zhiheng's bed for plenty of reasons. First, Qin Zhiheng was rich and powerful, and could protect him. Second, Qin Zhiheng owned a film and television company that could sign him and make him a star. Third, and most importantly, the Qin family had something he wanted.
And, of course, there was a fourth reason: Qin Zhiheng was tall and handsome, and had a great body...
Zhou Tang figured that if it weren't for that one thing, he might have been willing to keep playing along with Qin Zhiheng indefinitely. He didn't know if it could last a lifetime. A lifetime was too long. All he knew was that when you've walked alone at night for long enough, even running into a robber can feel like a relief. At least, right now, I'm not alone.
Qin Zhiheng is a domineering CEO, with all the traits that come with the title. For example, he comes from the Qin family, one of the top families in T Country, and is the family's most outstanding child, favored by everyone. He's also a hard worker, having reached the top while still young. He's far-sighted and ruthless in business, with no bottom line to speak of, yet everyone loves him.
But Qin Zhiheng knows that his success isn't because the Qin family is powerful. It's because he's strong. He would have succeeded just the same even if he didn't have the Qin surname.
Still, one thing is nice about being a Qin: Zhou Tang approached him because of his surname, and even climbed into his bed.
At first, Qin Zhiheng wasn't interested in this guy, who had been so brazen at the start but later became timid and hesitant. But unfortunately, the guy was exactly his type. Gradually, people came and went from his life, and only Zhou Tang stayed.
Wasn't that how life went, one day at a time? Qin Zhiheng figured things might be fine if they continued this way. He was already letting Zhou Tang into his heart, so he might as well keep him by his side.
That was, until the day Zhou Tang took off his mask in front of him and bared his claws. Only then did Qin Zhiheng realize that he hadn't taken in a little white rabbit at all. It was a tiger, a vicious one, carrying hatred and fury, ready to tear him apart and destroy the Qin family.
A few things to keep in mind:
1. This story is entirely fictional and has no connection to reality.
2. All the high-tech tricks mentioned in the story are made up and have no connection to reality.
3. This is simply a wish-fulfillment story about a domineering CEO. All the trappings are fake; in the end, everything serves the protagonists' happy ending.
4. About the title: "Treading the Shadow" can mean following, stepping on, or walking softly. It refers not only to the relationship between the protagonists, but also to what they do. The precise meaning will become clear once you've read the whole story. (Of course, if I think of a better title, I'll change it.)
Uke's perspective, both leads are strong, revenge, redemption
A strong but timid, hidden tiger, unaware heartthrob uke VS. a slow-to-warm, devoted domineering CEO seme
Theme: As long as your thinking doesn't go off course, there are always more solutions than difficulties.
