Copenhagen? A Mermaid's Love Song

On every clear morning or quiet moonlit night

The green-eyed boy would stand alone by the sea

Quietly gazing at the pale blue water

The barely visible little waves gently, tenderly kissed the shore

And made a soft, whispering sound that was almost too quiet to hear

At times like these, a strange warmth would always rise in the boy's distant, icy heart

A strange sadness, too

Was it her laughter? Her tears?

Was it that story, already forgotten?

Dedicated to those who have never lost their childlike innocence, and who, amid the mortal world's hustle and bustle, still watch over the sea with the pure heart of the Daughter of the Sea.

This is a story about forgetting and searching, true love and waiting.

Some of the characters are based on the Olympian gods of Greek mythology. Edith's identity blends together the stories of several gods, which I will leave aside for now. As for the other characters, they were all Olympian gods in their previous lives. For reasons unknown, time in the divine realm came to a standstill, and the gods awoke in the mortal world. Bound by death, Edith and Roy retained their memories of their past lives, while Dean, Shirley, and the others have lost theirs. And so our story begins...

A god or two will pop up from time to time in this story. They may regain their divine powers, recover their memories, or know nothing at all while unwittingly abusing the powers hidden within them... (The overall tone is lyrical, but there may also be a little goofing around here and there!)

Also, the "Daughter of the Sea" here has nothing to do with Hans Christian Andersen's Little Mermaid. I used that phrase only because Edith's divine power comes from the ocean.

The background music is lovely. It's a little slow, so give it a careful listen O(∩_∩)O

I may revise earlier chapters from time to time, perhaps changing just a few words or sentences. Please bear with me!

In longing, through wind and rain, Xiaoyao writes a legend...

As the years pass, only love cannot be forgotten...
